In the first four months of this year we have Initiated Thomas Farrelly, Passed Preston Cohen, James Torony and John Konopka and Raised John Novak in the Degrees of Masonry. This is a great accomplishment for our Lodge, but what have we contributed to the local Community. We have done much in past years. School Scholarships, weekly Food Drives, donate monies to needy families at Thanksgiving and Christmas (including gifts), just to name a few. The Brothers that did this in the past did it with much love in their hearts and concern for our neighbors. We need to return to this type of contribution and start activities that will make us all feel good and make a difference to the ones we can help. Ask yourself......Why did I join the Masonic Fraternity ? What can I do to help others ? In the coming months, I plan to start several new committees that will be needed to re-establish our effort to this community endeavor. We need to show the people in the community who we are and what Masonry stands for. Your help in this effort is greatly needed. If the job is big, many helping hands make small work for everyone. I will be discussing this in more detail at future Lodge Communications. If we demonstrate a positive "Light" in the community, it may encourage future interest in learning more of what Masonry is all about. Our Past Masters and our experienced Brothers can make a tremendous contribution to this effort. If any Brother has ideas for programs that would help with our cause, please call me and let me know what you are willing to help put together. I am also planning to re-establish our relationship with our Eastern Star Sisters. They have contacted me and wish to work with us in the 250th Anniversary celebration being planned for 2015. They will be attending our May 22nd Fellowcraft Dinner and will be making a presentation about Eastern Star. Please make every effort to join us. Hope to see you all on the level soon. Fraternally........Your Brother |
